Jacob Sanchez
Jacob Sanchez serves as Chief Financial Officer for the Cybersecurity Manufacturing Innovation Institute (CyManII), where he oversees the institute’s financial operations and manages a diverse portfolio of funding sources, including federal grants, state appropriations and industry partnerships. He develops financial strategies that support CyManII’s mission while ensuring fiscal accountability, regulatory compliance and responsible stewardship of resources.
With more than 20 years of experience at UT San Antonio, Sanchez has developed extensive expertise in accounting, budgeting, financial management and strategic planning. He has a deep understanding of the university’s financial infrastructure, budgeting processes and regulatory environment.
Prior to becoming Chief Financial Officer, Sanchez served as Senior Financial Planning Analyst for CyManII, leading financial planning, budget development, forecasting and reporting efforts that supported the institute’s strategic initiatives and continued growth. Earlier in his career at UT San Antonio, he served as Director of Budget & Analysis and Director of Fiscal Administration, providing leadership in institutional budgeting, financial analysis and fiscal operations.
Sanchez holds a master’s degree in accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He is recognized for his collaborative leadership, analytical expertise and commitment to advancing organizational success through sound financial stewardship and strategic decision-making.
